Suraya Kiawan-Tessa
Suraya Kiawan-Tessa is the author of Rena and the Focaccias or the Tragedy of Silent Stairs, a short story in an upcoming Winter Anthology by Cinnabar Moth Publishing. Her writings have appeared or are forthcoming in Cornucopia, Mixed Mag, Pareidolia Literary, Dwelling Literary, and more. She also documents her life and celebrates other Southeast Asian creatives on her blog.
Suraya writes stories that blend her imagination with her curiosity, heritage, humour, and love for experiments. She is a Malay woman of mixed ancestry from Singapore, who left home to honour her aspirations, first in Istanbul and hitherto in Turin, Italy.
She is an educator, helping foreign-language students improve their proficiency in English. She works with them to prepare for English Language qualification exams, academic essays and presentations, and university conferences. To make learning English more accessible around the world, she started a website with free resources and materials for everyone.
